Partial Tension Dead Ends

A number of customers have asked us to figure out a product to fill the gap between Minimum Tension (5%) and Full Tension (100%) applications. The idea behind this Substation design is that larger cable sizes are used as strain Bus where higher ampacity is critical but the design doesn't necessarily need a maximum strength cable connection.
Our engineering team worked directly with the end users to understand the requirements of the design and purpose of the connection to develop the first Partial Tension connection system of its kind.

  • Single Stage design allows for faster Swaging, lighter weight tooling and reduced cost
  • High strength galvanized steel machined to exact tolerances
  • Re-tensioning during maintenance is possible
  • Meet 60% pull out strength requirement.
  • Available in conductors up to 4326 for AAC / ACSR / AAAC / ACAR cable types
  • Passes all minimum requirements of ANSI C119.4
  • 1 & 2 Pad, Extra High Voltage and custom pad size, pad angles and eyeloop alignment are all possible
  • American made with fast lead times
  • In-house engineering support
